“Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst.”
– Henry Cartier-Bresson

Fifty years of photography and I am still chasing that elusive photo. Regardless of the result, I still get a thrill when I frame an image that pleases me. Pressing the shutter button is a moment of great joy because at that point I know I have framed what I saw and preserved it. More often than not that fraction of a second is the end of the story; but not always. If luck and skill are on my side the image will have potential for printing and displaying. Photographs have always been manipulated since the birth of photography. With today’s tools, such as Photoshop, an image can be created in many ways and even distorted, added to or subtracted from. There is nothing new under the sun and artists have been shaping their vision forever. I try to retain the integrity of the original subject and my enhancements are only to reflect what I believe I saw and the feelings they engendered.

Currently I am using a Canon R5, 45-megapixel camera. Lenses of choice are ‘L’ and ‘RF’ series Canon lenses that are a constant as I upgrade camera bodies.

My iPhone has become my ‘go to’ camera, however, most of my serious photos have been shot on Canon digital cameras 10D, G7, M3, 1Ds MkII, 5D MkII, 5DSR & R5. My film cameras of choice were Canon A1 and Hasselblad 500CM.

All my photographs are available for purchase and may be supplied framed or unframed in a range of sizes from small to very large. Photographs are printed in house using an Epson 44″ Surecolor P8000. Preferred paper is Hahnemuehle 100% Cotton Rag.
